Are you thinking about learning to code or maybe launching a new career as a software developer? Well you’re in the right place! If you’re curious about bootcamps or if a role in tech is right for you, join us for our quick fire information session to hear how Makers can support your journey. You’ll meet our Course Managers Jo and Rachael, they’ll share:
We’ll also open the floor to your questions. If you’re brand new to your Makers journey, this is the first event that we recommend attending.
We can’t wait to see you there!
Makers is the UK’s premier coding bootcamp with over 8 years of experience in training people to code and launching tech careers.
If you’re thinking of learning to code, Demo Day is the event for you. You’ll see what learning to code at a bootcamp can offer you, why it’s different from learning at home and the additional support our team offer to help with job hunting if you’re looking for a career change or if you’re looking to add a new technical string to your bow in your current role.
If this is the start of your research into bootcamps, we’re here to help. The team will be on hand to share details about Makers and answer any questions you have.
Demo Day is a showcase of the projects our students build from scratch in the final two weeks of the course. They can make anything, games, AI projects – the choice is theirs. In their quick fire demos each team will demonstrate their project in action and explain the tech skills they learned at Makers.
Next is Q&A with the Makers team so you can hear more about learning to code with us, so come along! It could be your first step towards your dream career.
And if you’re a friend or family member of one of the students, come along! We want you to (virtually) clap, holler and show your support!
17:00 – Arrive at Makers HQ: 50-52 Commercial St, London E1 6LT
17:15 – Project Demo’s begin
18:10 – Celebrations with food and drinks, and your chance to ask any questions you have to the team
19:30 – End
We hope to see you there!

Our speakers will give you insights and advice on how to self promote so that you can advance your career in any industry.
Being in the right place at the right time always seems like something left up to chance, right? Well, a massive part of getting the ‘chance’ to succeed in your career is showing up. Yet, we still find it one of the hardest things to do. Some of us won’t show up because of fear of rejection, the feeling that we’re not worthy of opportunities, that anything we’ve achieved already was down to luck or timing instead of our talent and qualifications.
Does any of this sound familiar? Introducing, The Show Up List.
Makers have created The Show Up List event series with the aim of elevating conversations around personal brand building, and why showing up is the most important thing you’ll ever do. Thanks to a range of fantastic speakers, these events will give our attendees the skills and knowledge to enhance their personal and professional confidence to progress in a career in any field.
In our first event our speakers, Stefanie Sword-Williams and Monica Chadha will explore:
Agenda:
We encourage women and allies to attend, learn and ask your questions in a safe, welcoming environment.
Stefanie Sword Williams is the founder and author of F*ck Being Humble. She created the business to encourage individuals to be unapologetically proud of their achievements and overcome the fear of self-promotion. Before turning her side hustle into a full-time mission, she worked in advertising for seven years telling brand stories for businesses all over the world. Working across strategy, client management and business development, Stef regularly pitched, presented and found unique ways to cut through the clutter. Now, named as Forbes 30 Under 30 in Europe, she has delivered workshops for global brands including Unilever, Warner Music, Google, Puma, Microsoft, Vodafone, The Guardian, The BBC and spoken at conferences such as Cannes Lions Festival and D&AD New Blood. In 2020 Stef released her first book ‘F*ck Being Humble: Why self-promotion isn’t a dirty word’ and also delivered a TEDx Talk on why the world needs to be a little less humble.
Monica Chadha is a coach, consultant, experienced chair and advisor with multi-industry knowledge in media, retail and technology amplifying the value creation opportunity and taking organisations from breakdown to breakthrough. Monica is passionate about the UK’s economic future and using all of the economy’s talents to boost life chances and productivity. She was recognised as one of the top 50 Women to Watch in the 2019 FTSE Board Report UK and her last executive position was as CEO of MyMovies.Net Ltd, a UK market-leading service delivery company that aggregated, curated and monetised content for retailers, publishers and brands. Monica serves as a faculty member of the FT Board Director Programme; member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for AI; member of the Bias in AI Research Group at Durham University and an adviser to the European Union of International Cinemas.
